Helicopter Night Jumps
We’re very proud to be part of the UK’s first civilian helicopter night jumps! As far as we know, this is a first in the UK!
The event was held on October 17th, 2016 in the Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon, England. Two Tritium altimeters were part of this achievement, and they performed perfectly. We had one camera on the lift, however understandably it wasn’t able to capture much. The Tritium altimeters have an ambient light sensor, meaning that during the night jump, they automatically dimmed to approximately 0.5% brightness of what they normally would be on a normal daylight jump.
Skydive Buzz (Dunkeswell) has promised to hold more helicopter night jumps soon due to overwhelming demand, so if you’re interested in doing one, pay them a visit!
